About
The Brighton Jazz Trio is:
Andy Moore, clarinet
Andy has been playing in various jazz settings for nearly half a century. He was in a Dixieland band for 20 years, and is a member of the Sinti Rhythm gypsy jazz quartet. He is proud to have played the French Quarter Festival in New Orleans on three different occasions in a band led by the late Charlie DeVore. Since 1998, he has worked as a reference librarian at the Wayland Public Library, where he has seen the Jazz CD section through its birth, prime, and decline.
Kevin Strang, bass
Kevin started playing upright bass in 5th grade when the school orchestra teacher suggested it would suit him better than his chosen instrument (the clarinet) due to his height. Going on to study music at Skidmore College, Kevin has played in a variety of settings ranging from bluegrass to jazz, rock, funk, classical, and Third Stream. Kevin currently lives in Back Bay and works in administration at the New England Conservatory of Music.
Greg Martin, guitar
Greg started playing guitar as a child and eventually studied music at Boston College. He has played with a number of different ensembles in a variety of styles in the Boston area in the last 25 years.
